I managed to get in a little kubbing today. About 130 miles worth. It's easy out here in Hill Country Texas to stack to miles on a gorgeous day. I noticed a couple minor issues with the bike, nothing that can't be fixed. For instance, the clutch is slipping on the highway. Turns out the pipe and tune are just enough extra power to overpower the stock clutch springs. I'll be installing heavier springs int he next couple days when they come in. Cheap fix.
Chris, I believe the 117 already has heavier springs. Sounds like you need a simple clutch cable adjustment.

I heard Matt Laidlaw talked about this as being an issue with the 117. I checked the cable and it's where it should be. I'll go double check it and see what happens. Adjust it and test it out again.

Okay Stan, you were 100% correct. I readjusted the cable, checking play with the bars in both directions just for fun. Anyway, after a 16 mile shake down, it's solid as a rock, no slipping. I owe you a beer.

Glad I could help Chris. Maybe I'll make a fall run to Texas and we can ride when you're more completely recovered.

Evening Woodsnitzes from Walla-Walla, WA. A fantastic day of riding through Hell’s Canyon. We had it all, twisties, switchbacks, sweepers for a couple of hundred miles. Just an awesome day. Now to find beer…..
