Today, we went on a new to us road.
Stopped at Sturgis Harley.

We ate at the Side Hack Saloon and Grill. Wasn’t bad food. Would be a fun place. Hospitality was top notch.
We then showed Dad Buffalo Chip and Full Throttle. We didn’t stop at Buffalo Chip as we couldn’t tell if it was open.
Damn glad we stopped at Full Throttle. Wow, I am impressed of the new bar. I could sit there all day and look at the old lathes, milling machines, drills, gang drills, riveters, metal saws, presses…I could go on. My Dad doesn’t drink but I could see him having a beer or two with me while looking at the old equipment.

Paula was able to get a Louie as I was gawking.

Despite being poured on twice heading home, it was a great day!

At least two spots in my neighborhood were setting off big boomers till 2:30 this morning. Got less than 6 hours sleep before I had to get ready to take Carol to Costco. It was the busiest I've ever seen it. Condos and apartments are going up by the hundreds in the 6 suburbs around me and it shows, nearly full parking lots and lots of traffic in all of them. Took a short ride this afternoon, low 70s instead of yesterday's 90, felt nice. Spent a lot of money on the Costco trip. Not in the store, at the gas station on the way home. I think I'm going to top 1000 miles on the truck this year, seems like I need it almost every time instead of a bike.

I know I just moved here, but it's obvious I got in before this area explodes. They're building as fast as they can. Fortunately, there's no land left to build on around me

I'd like to see this place. My favorite exhibit at the old Smithsonian building in Washington, DC, was the tools. They weren't used, though, all brand new when they were put there. Had the purtiest band saw I've ever seen, big one run by a leather belt off a multiple tool power shaft.

That's good, I'd hate to have apartments built next to my house. I'm sure it's just a matter of time before they start tearing down older neighborhoods around here to build condos on. They could probably fit at least 3 or 4 units on my lot, make buying a house and bulldozing it worth it.

These were definitely not new.

Two identical milling machines on pedestals in the front of the building.
They had me at hello.
