Eavning all. Still prepping for the party. Sanding my old table. Poor thing hasn't been cleaned up in a few years.

neither has my basement
but a clogged sewer line solved that problem

Lou, what finish is that? Looks pretty.

Garden hose water. I just finished hitting it with 80 grit after I removed 1/16 with the router.

The water will make the wood fir up so the sanding will be more effective.

raises the grain , which in turn (after sanding) will really make it pop. High school wood shop teacher used that expression. I have a chess board that I couldn’t do that too. Because of the alternating grain AND glue if any water got to the bare wood it crack all over. I can get a pic of it still got it. Made it circa 1980. Mahogany and pine.

I like the water finish. Very nice. Lol, I should have thought about that. I'm brain dead anymore. I need to get back to shuffle.
