But the wages keep most people here. Top tier if you will.
You mean your inflationary economy is artificially supported by blowing up wages?

Nah we always had high wages and higher taxes too support the bluest state (next to cali). But more to your point the inflation here gave everyone a pay cut as it were.

Was in Home D today, curious and looked at doors, from under $200 with frame (insulated metal) to $3000 for just the door (wood?). Didn't see much difference in them, and I replaced front & back doors with the under $200 kind, seem like good doors, look ok to me. I replaced the frames on both since they came with them, bit tedious to get them squared and plumb, but took my time and they fit good.

What do immigrants cost, I could use a couple that are good with shovels. Chain saw skill would be a bonus I'd pay a couple bucks more for.

it’s closer to 5 k. 1/3 for materials 2/3rds for labor. And because of a few decades of lawsuits companies pay for insurance which in turn the consumer pays. All the time.
We’re paying for excellent service and no fugg ups. I know if I did it. It would save a buck. But also a shlt job. So we pay to play.
