Morning gents! A crisp, clear morning here. 56 degrees. Love it!

The first nights are always rough (ruff?). When we got Casper we had him in a kennel, which we placed inside his current living space under the steps. It's like a custom dog suite. Anyway, he went nuts the 1st couple nights. We rode it out and he calmed down. We got him hemp treats which seemed to help calm him down. Fast forward 8 months to now - He spends much of his time in there with the door open. It's his safe zone. When we leave to run errands we simply say "Place" and he pretty much trots happily in there. He still sleeps in there every night. My favorite part of the day is waking up and letting him out. There is nothing like the wiggly, unconditional love you get from a dog in the morning. They are so happy to see you and of course it also means breakfast. So ok...maybe there are some conditions.

Anyway - hang in there Chuck. He'll come around soon.

So it pretty much looks like we'll have some pretty fair riding weather going down Route 66! Got rain gear because I know it'll rain on us at some point during our trip! Trying to decide on how heavy a jacket I want to take. Will pack long sleeve tee and a sweatshirt, but don't wanna try to stuff a heavy jacket on the bike! I'm figuring for the most part it will be a tee with a vest.
Looking forward to this ride.....but am a bit nervous as well. First trip that will be over 4k miles. Got some granola bars and will have water with some electrolytes to put in for hydration. Maybe I'm over planning......

TGIF Woods! My Pop came up from Fountain for Father's Day so we'll hang out & drink beer. He brought me the bottle of Dewars White Label scotch he got from his realtor. Guess I'll have to try it. I don't recall if I've ever had scotch but its free so I'll try it now

Our dogs sleep where they want. It’s a treat to them cuz they’re also in a kennel typ crate while we’re out earning coin.

The next challenge is going to be introducing him to Gracie 😳. She is a possessive, jealous dog, she has taken over all the attention at my brother’s house, his poor dog gets run off by Gracie from food, petting and furniture privileges .
