Not sure....I have a crap load of maps. Just ordered it, so hope it comes before we leave! I have a series of Route 66 maps that key on the route. They pretty much show the route along the highway. Also have couple books on Rt66. But we only have 2 weeks, and it's not so much seeing sights along the way as much as to simply ride it. We do have several we want to check, but not diving off for a lot of these. We may not even make it to California!! A lot depends on the others, how much ride time we get, stops, etc. But regardless we will hit a lot of miles as we can heading out!!
Temps running warm, hot, really hot out that way?

Beer, chips and dip and my man card. I am set.

In OK you'll have mid to high 80's, mid 60's overnight.

Pretty much what we were thinking. Not sure if we get into elevated areas out west...that would be one concern of ours. I know OK is pretty much flat...I only know about that mountain near Ft Sill....went up there a few times to drink in stays at Sill!!

Question for you guys out west....planning a trip on Route 66 starting June 18. What's the weather like out MO/KS/OK/TX/AZ/NM this time of year. Expect much rain or bad weather? Worries about elevations out there? Cool/cold weather? Have packable rain gear, but not sure if I need heavier jacket or hoodies. Any suggestions? Planning on riding a number of sections of 66 along the highway. Plan to hit the CA state line, then take highways home. If time. Any input you can give me would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Few years ago I had my shift linkage come loose on the Arkansas/OK border. I had to wait 30 min for the bike to cool down before I could put my hand in there to fix it, and it was over 100°. I work outside in it, and I'm used to the heat, but I sure was glad we had a couple of cold bottles of water, mainly for my wife. My little soft cooler holds 4 bottles and fits nicely in the saddlebag with my rain gear and bottle of whiskey....

After running solid wires all the way on Pearl and buttoning her up, I was putting the throttle side switch housing, brake and throttle back on. I dropped one of the little brass ferrules that's for the throttle by wire. Do you know how hard one of those is to find on the floor??
This was on a Sunday, Harley Dealer not open till Tuesday.......then I remembered the Barnett cables and brake line stuff I ordered for the Shovelhead when I put the apes on it last year. Scored!!! One brand new brass ferrule in a small Barnett package....
This evening I found the one I dropped on the shop floor. It was under the lift. Harley wants $5 for one, Amazon has a 10 pack for $10.99. Think I'll order a pack. Might come in handy some Sunday....
