TOAK, The Thread of All Knowledge part XIV.
Last night I used my Cycle Hill tire changer for the first time. All I can say is, if you want to change your own tires, it's a good way to go. What used to be a grueling job with tire spoons and rim protectors became a piece of cake with minimal exertion. I got mine used for $200, so well worth it. And "Casper's Pond" makes for a great way to check for leaks.
Bawb I would pay money to watch you change the Metzler on Juan L's rear tire with that.....
I believe you could eventually do it, but it would be fun to watch. Also, tire lube is your friend. Not only does it help installing a tire, it will show any leak without dipping or spraying water.

I appreciate the well wishes for my buddy Snowman.
Both he and his wife have been released from the hospital without major injuries (we think). Tommy has had over 15 major back surgeries, has multiple plates and screws in his back. Hopefully nothing pops up later. They are beaten and bruised, with lots of road rash. Tommy has 30 stitches in his leg, but somehow avoided broken bones. I don't know how, as he's broken both wrists and arms before, and has multiple pins and screws there as well.
He wrecked 1 mile from his house, on a road he's ridden a motorcycle on probably 10,000 times. He was taking the last curve before the road he lives on, hit something slick that was in the road and his bike instantly went out from under him. He said he went flipping and him and the bike ended up in the ditch. His wife went flipping and she slid 50 ft down the road, and both her elbows have bone showing, so she's gonna have to have some type of skin grafts I'm sure.
She was wearing a brand new full face helmet and the helmet split. She remember hitting her head hard on the pavement. If she hadn't been wearing it she would be dead.

Sounds as if it could have been worse, Jack. Hopefully they both have a complete and speedy recovery.
