TOAK, The Thread of All Knowledge part XIV.
Shakedown ride with the new Tour-paks went well. We headed to Columbus on Sat and returned on Sunday. Checked gas mileage on Tonya bike to make sure she fit into next weeks gas stops headed west to Colorado. She should have a 50 mile buffer between stops.
Chopped TP on mine looks smaller than the King TP but it really does have about the same amount of storage space. Leather TP on Tonya’s has a lot of space as well.
Tentative plans after Colorado is the Grand Canyon and Joshua Tree NP then swing down thru the Southwest. Maybe the Three Sisters in Texas Hill Country.
Almost 60k on the Road Glide and 30k+ on the Switchback.

our lack of water has stunted the grass growth here. That’s a welcome thing.
So I grilled a roast. A rack of ribs. A doz. hot dawgs. A lb of kielbasa. A porter house steak and 2 lbs of sweet sausage. The steak and ribs are gone. Werking on the toast.
Afternoon Woods! Checkin in from the patio. Cold Dos Equis, burgers, dogs and ice cream to be served in a bit
...classic country playing too

Halito Woods. Got home from our Memorial Day Parade. Weather was quite warm! I led the bikes ahead of the parade. We were quite a bit early or in front of the parade....hard to ride at a walking pace. Got some suggestions for next year. We may (depending on how many bikes ride) do a couple of u-turns and circle back then forward again to give the crowd something to laff at (jk!) and take up a little time and space. Local TV crew was there.....waiting for the 6 o'clock news to see what they filmed. Grandsons did see me and were tickled. They said I waved at them, but I was doing alot of waving!! Then the Honor Guard firing went well. Youngest grandson was really impressed..... "Grampa is in charge of everything!!" The local high school had two trumpeters who played the Echo Taps when we finished firing. Brings a tear to my eye everytime I hear that! I gave each of them one of the spent cartridges we fired. Could not thank them enough. Both for playing Taps, and their sincere efforts. They thanked me, but I could not thank them enough!!
Thanks for listening to me rant. Today was a good day. A lot of people came up to us and Thanked Us. I feel those who attended appreciated our parade.
