Hello sage advisor for all beers Mexican.
Odd, one of my goals in semi retirement and I don't think I've ridden a thousand miles since Texas.

Beers consumed, lies told. Breakfast tomorrow at the Casa Falcón before tackling the last of the Sisters.

My dad never spoke of the war. D-Day. I was told he had it easy. Just set the demolition charges on the stanchions propped in the surf. Then get out of the way.
Simple. (I’m lucky to be here. )

Ride safely tomorrow, Russ, and be sure to thank Chuck for taking up the slack in Stan's mileage.

Evening, Russ and Bill.
Did you get Chuck's bike legs broken in today?

Actually not much mileage today. Tomorrow is another matter though! When we pulled into the hotel at 2 PM, it was still raining.

So you would have covered the third sister today had the weather cooperated?

I disliked my previous stateside duty more than Vietnam. Seemed like most of it was bullshit designed to annoy people. I could really get into the weapons and combat training part of it, but not much else. I tried to extend my Vietnam tour so I wouldn't have to do any more stateside duty, but it wasn't approved; I suspect a couple NCOs I didn't get along with well had something to do with that. So 6 more months of stateside duty. Funny thing was, I ended up in a unit that would get the training Hueys off in the morning and then we'd have the rest of the day off, didn't even have formations, pretty sweet duty after all, and Hunter Army Airfield outside Savannah, GA was pretty decent - the Air Force had turned it over to the Army shortly before, those Air Force guys lived in luxury compared to the army bases I'd been at.
