Ya, the old NASCAR was better; when the winner of the race finished eight laps ahead of second place. Or the winner’s car held eight more gallons of fuel in the frame or was 100 pounds lighter than any other car. Then there was the old points system that allowed drivers to just have the best “average “ finish over the season and win the championship. And I really miss the steal guard rails that would impale the drivers when they went through them. Those were the good old days.

I’ve heard she’s a bad Mexican too.

When I was around 7 we lived a couple of blocks over from AJ Foyt who was just beginning to win in his career but still pretty small time. AJ’s famous, mercurial temper was always on display as he worked on cars in his driveway and had a couple of kids asks big him stupid questions. My older brother were there one day pestering him and he slid out from underneath the car, glared at both of us, stormed inside and we could hear him yelling at his wife to “do something with these damn kids outside”.
She gave us ice cream bars and sent us away. I was a regular in his driveway, not so much for the cars but for the ice cream. Even at 7 I could spot an easy mark…..

Barely a day’s work Chris.

Good to hear you and TLT are home safe and that Emily didn’t open a meth lab in the house during your absence.

I do 600 miles days easy. Still exhausting though. But TLT never has.

May you chomp away in ecstasy!
I had a pork tortilla wrap for supper. And thin sliced lamb in some kind of wunderful sauce. Finished it up with a small cup of beef stew. Not big servings, but lots of flavor. Nice to have hot food when the Minnysoda wind is howling outside. Or is that wolves...

Audrey check, the girls just crossed into Iowa airspace, touchdown in less than an hour. I just cleaned up the rough edges of my fingernails.
