Yeah, the guy is about double what the bike is worth to me. It may be worth more to someone who collects these. It's a nnice parts pile to make 3 other bikes.
Or an old school chop. Could be very cool. But not for that $$$.
Yeah.....it's definitely grass growing weather here. I can't keep up! But that's what I need to start removing Crabgrass and start seeding. My yard will look polka dotted.
We're doing Mexican food night - Carnitas!
my bag said weeds with feed. Ya think I put down the wrong stuff ??
Also parked in Madras. I've always loved the Corsairs due to the wing shape and sleek fuselage.
They have a lot of nice fighters over there. My other favorite, the Bearcat, is there among others.
Hard for me to say which prop fighter I like best. One seldom mentioned in the favorite class is the A1 Skyraider, not a particularly glamorous aircraft and I probably wouldn't have given them a second thought except that I've had them fly close air support on ground assaults and a plane that could drown out the Huey's noise when it let loose those .50's flying close by leaves quite an impression. I'm sure a Corsair could done the same, and looked better doing it, but they were gone before my war. Unfortunately.
My Dad had a favorite, the P47. He said while his unit was in pursuit of some German soldiers fleeing across a field a P47 came down to strafe them, and the guns quit right away; since they all did he figured out of ammo. The pilot looped around and came back on the deck and mowed some Germans. Dad said he wouldn't have wanted to be the mechanic that had to clean that engine. One of the few war stories he told me.
