Jesse James built a motorcycle with a radial engine. Coolest chopper I'd ever heard. It hit Ie in the feels on multiple levels. I saw a truck, an old Chevy I believe, maybe 40's, built with one too. I'm glad they're still relevant machines. So cool!

My former employer made the Wasp radial engines in WW2. Pretty successful if I understand correctly. In fact PW was so good at these engines, they were "asked" to not get involved with jet engine programs until the early 50's. Would have loved to been around during that era.....when war production took over manufacturing. And I would love to hear the entire history of Pratt &
Whitney. I believe there was a tie between Eli Whitney, think he may have been the Whitney in Pratt & Whitney.

I love radial engine planes!

We finished laying the last of the grass and put down one wheelbarrow of rubber bits. Wife had to run to Lowes for the edging.

Eli Whitney, inventor of the cotton gin, "father" of the industrial revolution. Made possible by the use of interchangeable parts. I believe Pratt and Whitney was started with Amos, a cousin of Eli. Late 1800's.
