More bad news about the required repair to my bike. The melted plug from the stator is a “ non serviceable part “ , in other words, you have to buy the complete stator to get the plug 😳. Stator replacement is no small job and new stators are on back order @HD. No idea where I could find a bad stator ( that I could cut the plug off and splice it on ) . Sometimes I feel like a black cloud follows me around waiting for it’s next opportunity to rain on my parade ☹️
Sorry about your issues Chuck. Yea, stator and plug come together. I wouldn't do any splicing if it were mine.
Plenty of aftermarket stators and VR's out there, JP Cycles, etc. Just check Country of origin, I wouldn't get one made in China.
Changing the stator isn't super difficult. Takes longer to get to it than it does to change it.

Ok, maybe my luck isn’t ALL bad after all 
. I just remembered I have a five year extended warranty from Harley. I’m hoping they will cover what ever it needs to repair it 🙏. Waiting for a call back from Bert’s HD service department.
side note I know the service manager, he’s a good guy.

Good luck finding a stator in stock Chuck. I am back home eating lunch then back on the computer to work. The exam session went well.
