I have successfully bribed at least one child to pick up their trash along the fence line so that it doesn’t blow into our pool. Candy wrappers, napkins, chip bags. The six year old jumped on the chance and earned a Kit-Kat, the four year old got nothing because he said “No, I don’t want to” when I asked if he was going to help his sister. Guess who was crying like a little girl when he saw his sister being rewarded with candy? Life lesson delivered.
