They got a close look at the bike. The front tire was punctured. There was debris in the road and looks like a tiny piece cut the front tire. I was headed into the guard rail. I had to make a split second decision. The front wasn't responsive and started a wobble while on the asphalt. I avoided the guard rail by a couple feet. The shoulder was super soft and bike sunk in and started to cartwheel near instantly. I avoided a tree too.

Insurance is calling it a not at fault crash.

I've seen so much bad **** laying in the road, pieces of metal, large bolts, all kinds of stuff that could ruin your day. I've had 2 rear tire blowouts at 80 mph. No big deal, feels squirrelly, get to the shoulder, no problems. I've often wondered how I've avoided a front tire blowout. That would be an entirely different deal.

My best friend usually follows me, and since I ride inside line, he rides outside. Problem is, he f**ks with his phone, etc, and wanders over into the edge of the shoulder sometimes. Last year coming back from North Carolina, we were near Paris TX. I see him drifting over close to the shoulder. Next time I look back he's gone. Turn around and sure enough he had a blowout. Luckily there's a dealer in Paris TX, and they hooked him up. While we were waiting for them to come pick him up, I'm looking at the shoulder at all the bullshit pieces of metal, nails, unbelievable.

Lots of bad **** on the shoulder, stay away from it!

I saw a nice black/blue one a few days ago. Had Minnesota tags though.
