Basically, the tendon that runs along the back, over the shoulder blade, tore and separated at the top. Upon further inspection, there was also small tears in the joint and some minor debris, likely from an older injury.

So, bad prognosis, but still overall, a repairable event that will likely not fail again after the repair.
