Morning Chris. We're between volleys. The woman came over to the driveway yesterday when Cheryl and I were doing a few things to our bikes. She started a conversation about motorcycles and then predictably mentioned the noise. I just said I didn't realize that it was that loud and that we would be more cognizant of it in the future, which is true. We all kept it friendly but the ticking time bomb of the playhouse complaint will be interesting. Nothing may come of it, or maybe it will be a hullabaloo. Depends on whether or not the HOA management company will do anything about it. They sent me a "friendly reminder" that trailers are not allowed outside, even though it was next to the garage, behind a fence, and barely visible. My guess is someone else who got dinged reported us. No matter as I was selling it anyway. But if they make me sell a trailer hidden behind a fence I would think they would give the same treatment to a playhouse looming over my yard in plain sight.
Mornin Y’All. Done rearranging the 5-6 inches of snow thatI we got overnight. Heavy wet variety. Did very little with the shovel. Used the battery powered snow blower and the 4-wheeler with the plow.
And if I'm being honest, I signed up for this. I knew the houses were closer together than I prefer. But that's the way it is here if you want a newer home. Unless you have 1.5 million to spend, which I didn't. I also knew the playset was there. I tried hard to (literally) look the other way, but it is like a guard tower along my fence. And the kids are not shy about hanging out and eyeballing us not only on the back patio, but even in our living room through the windows. They also taunt Casper when he's out ack. Nothing malicious but we hear "Caspah! Come here Caspah!" all the time and then when he's out front, the kid runs away screaming because she's afraid of dogs. until now I just took the "Let kids be kids" stance. Right until their parents messed with us on St Paddy's at 10:05 PM.
Here's the guard tower -
The grandparents own a home on the other side of the yard. Why the hell didn't they put it over there??
As far as the trailer, I knew it wasn't allowed. Frankly I didn't think anyone could see it so I figured I was ok temporarily. Which I was. It gave me incentive to get off my *** and sell it. Which I did for $1000 more than I paid for it brand new. So my feelings weren't all that hurt about it. But I figure someone narc'd me out. Again, that's to be expected and I am willing to die by the sword. (abide by HOA rules). Our last HOA was pretty loose and a couple neighbors had yards filled with old lawnmowers and cars. Their homes were also in a state of disrepair. I don't get into other people's business, but when it affects my property values I get cranky. That said, they never messed with me, so I left them alone.
