It is Happy Hour here at the humble estate. I am very happy to be off for the next four days. Hernando Bike Fest starts tomorrow about 15 minutes from me. I will check it out early in the morning because the weather says it may rain out some of the weekend. Last year was the first and it was actually pretty awesome. Rats Hole show, bands all day including Confederate Railroad as a Saturday night headliner.
Tanqueray and tonic with a splash of lime is the Happy Hour special. A mix of chili pistachios, dry roasted peanuts and habanero almonds for a bar snack.
@Northern Glide You can open carry and the truth is, if you conceal but have a permit out of state, no one, (myself included) would care and take the time to research reciprocity. So if you're going to carry just carry. You're traveling, your motorcycle is protected under the transportation code and concealing while on the bike is protected. The laws that Russ posted change when you walk into a store, and at that point, my first statement stands.
So, I've had my Shoei RF-1400 going on a year now. By far the best helmet I've ever had. I have the Cardo TalkPack Bold in there too so I have phone and music. The BOOM in my fairing is almost always just off. (Should have bought an EG to save some bucks). I tend to run the tinted visor but carry the clear as a backup because at night, well... Anyway, the photochromic shields have been out since last summer, but finding them was a chore. Ebay had them selling for twice their price, damn scalpers and frauds. Finally, I was able to order one, not get scalped and should have it this weekend. Just in time for a couple trips that will last a couple days each.
I remember buying the helmet I've liked the best, a Simpson, long ago for less than a lot of face shields cost today. Wore it a few years longer than recommended and probably would have a few years more, but I learned the hard way that Minnesota squirrels like to tear the insides out if you leave them outside. Hmm, come to think of it, I don't remember ever seeing a squirrel in Arizona, where I got the helmet. It may have been that helmet wrecking squirrel that started my downward opinion of Minnesota.
