TOAK, The Thread of All Knowledge part XIV.
Evening Greg! Less, but still expensive. Lift tickets - $120 each, so $240. Ski rentals - $110 for both. Goggles for Cheryl - $150. Mittens for Cheryl (yes, the orange ones - made in Sweden) - $150. Lunch was a deal at 40 bucks. 2 beers for 18 bucks plus tip - $24. So a tick under 800 bucks for a day of fun. Of course $300 of that applies to future days, which will be Wednesday. Now that we know we like it we'll acquire some gear of our own (used) and look for lift ticket deals. We should be able to bring our daily cost down by quite a bit.
Not much less.
There is something here called the Summit Pass, I think. Worth every penny if you ski a lot. But on the other hand, so many people bought them, the lift lines were so bad some people were only getting a couple runs a day.

That's one of the problems with Summit County and why I haven't skied it in ages - cost and crowds. Today we skied right up to the chair every run. It was fantastic.
