TOAK, The Thread of All Knowledge part XIV.
Vet said there’s no blockage(s). And she thinks it’s an aggressive stomach flu. She will be getting meds for the nausea and diarrhea. And wait till she eats again. So I guess that’s good news

Morning gents!
I don't have the courage to play that while Cheryl is nearby Mick.
Productive day so far. I got in the workout then got my taxes done.
I got the call on the van and it's not good. Motor damage as I suspected. No way to know how bad without going in. The shop it is at does not want to tackle it. So the wife and I have to make a decision. Find someone to do the motor replacement/repairs and sink money in it or get another vehicle. The company pays me a healthy vehicle allowance to provide my own vehicle so the money is not that big an issue. I love the van but something keeps telling me it's time to move on. I have a couple days to decide.

Call around some good shops and price a Long Block installed, assuming you have internal engine failure.
Web sites such as this might give you a rough parts price idea too. https://www.oreillyauto.com/shop/b/e...k/3c30a164587f
Good luck Bud -

Trish’s 2000 Lumina blew a head gasket @ 100k , 3.8 L V6 . I found a complete engine at a salvage yard for 500 bucks w/70k on the clock. Replace it in my shop and the car lasted until we bought her a new vehicle in 2007.

Move on. The trouble now is getting your hands on one to begin with. But it will be newer. That goes for everything from the tires to the steering wheel. That’s the plus side right there.

Hope your pup feels better and gets back to her normal bugging you Bill!!
Tough decision Jeff. Part of me would want to get new engine and keep the van rolling. It sure looks like it's in great shape. Too bad you haven't found a good mechanic you can trust. Those seem to be far and few between these days.
