Just up the road from the house the Methodist church women are having their fall festival today. We stopped in to support the community. There were vendors selling their crafts, live music by a singer songwriter, and a chili cook off. There were 6 or 7 contestants with their version of chili. I taste tested all but one. They had three celebrity judges, a local restaurateur, the County Sheriff and somebody else. They also let the people vote as well. There were only two that were tasty, one was a white chili made with turkey that was great and the other was a gumbo chili that was good but in my opinion was more gumbo than chili. I voted for the white chili and it did win the people's choice. The judges picked one that I thought was not good. Not that it was bad, it just was not as good as the others.

 

But I like the shitty pickup Larry. It keeps me humble.

 

Afternoon Woods! Back from WalMart. Made a run to WalMart for a few items. Werkin on early dinner: grilled BBQ drumsticks & twice baked taters.

 

Really good but Modelo is still king. It is very close.

 

 

Back from the funeral. Tom was a fun guy. He played in a band for a couple of years out of Houston, opening up for acts like Stevie Ray and Joe Cocker. They even had Stevie Nicks join them for a set once prior to the release of the Fleetwood Mac standard Rumors.

Good thing he got that out of his system so he could be a really good EE.

With both parents now gone, I bought myself a gift for trying to make the best of the last years they had with us. At least that sounds like one heck of a justification. LOL
I wanted to have something other than a black bike before I died and there's no time like the present.
