Harley sales (80% M8) for 2019 - Just the Facts
Just the facts. No commentary from me. The Harley Davidson Financials for full year 2019 and the 4th Qtr of 2019 were released today and speak for themselves. 79% of HD's motorcycle unit sales are from bikes with the M8 engine.
Side note: No data provided on the launch of the LiveWire. In fact, the LiveWire is completely absent from the 4th Qtr Financial Report. The full presentation is here: http://investor.harley-davidson.com/...4-746be4582986
Here are a few of the key slides:

3 months ago the profits were down 24% and share price rose. Now profits are up, yet share price sinks? I thought that the motivation for investors in a company was profits.
I personally like that HD is really trying out several new products, and pushing international sales rather than trying to get new customers in North America, where the market is flat. I honestly think the future is in Asia and Europe, not at home.
Like it or not, it is a global market.

Sorry Harleys bread and butter are nice big meaty damn near 2 litre touring bikes that they can get a huge margin on each one sold and #1 priority should be North America.

Not going to work. There is no margin in small bikes. Harley will never be able to compete with the Japs on small CC bikes. The Japs will flood the market and decimate Harley and sell every one for a loss because they dont care and will make a point. I mean its not like they havent done it before.

LMFAO
The most promising sales result was a 2.7% rise in Asia/Pacific which includes Australia, ASEAN countries and Japan.
However, Australia isn’t contributing to that result with sales down 7.9%.
By comparison, European sales were down 3%, Latin America -3.9% and Canada -7.7%.
WOW.....

International sales are rising and will surpass the home market within the next few years. Pan America, and other new models are the future. HD needs a winner, and that's not happening at home with the current bikes, Not because the bikes are bad, but because the current buyer demographics aren't there. I really want them to be a leader again rather than struggling for a lousy $13 million in profits. I have to support the current direction management is taking them, because trying to get new riders to accept an old "style" just won't fly. But my opinion, and $2 will get you a cup of coffee.
When its all said and done I’d take the 13m in profits vs putting anything in the Canadian stock market.
