That's entirely separate from the cost and the charging time, of course.

No concern, no fretting, no fussing, no opinions, no whining, no BS. In fact just the opposite. Very much enjoying life. Great riding on Sunday on my 128 Harley and just got home this evening after an exciting President Trump Rally in Wildwood NJ. Life is VERY GOOD.

First off I want to state that I like my hd just fine and accept if for what it is. I enjoy every mile and bought it because I wanted it plain and simple.
As for lost sales I think it has to do with bang for the buck more than anything else. I think hd dropped the ball years ago. While other manufacturers were forging ahead, hd felt safe with the name alone making the sales quotas for each year. People buy what they can afford. I bought my VTX1800T3 for three reasons. First, the VTX1800 was the only 110 available, took hd another 5 years to produce one. Price was the second reason. The best hd had to offer at that time lacked hp and ft lbs but still cost a lot more. And third was maintenance. Compared to any bike I've ever owned, hd needs a lot more maintenance.
Again I like my hd just fine, but they have priced themselves out on every angle from original purchase price to accessories to get it equal in performance to some stock bikes. Again I like my hd just fine and bought it with eyes wide open. But if hd wasn't so arrogant in demanding premium prices for everything hd related I'd like it a lot more.

I also agree with your pricing comments. Once I started looking around, I was stunned, stunned, to find out what you can buy for $15k. World-class, beautiful, powerful, reliable, amazing handling motorcycles. No, you can't get a luxury touring motorcycle for $15k, but fewer and fewer current riders want that kind of bike.
