TOAK, The Thread of All Knowledge Part XIII
When I did my living room ceiling fan the elec box was only supported by sheetrock. That one I took the time to do it right. Gotta love a 1940's house.
Rob, what a complete cluster bleeding brakes on that Baron. The mechanics here replaced two master cylinders on the pilot's side, dry, then pumped all that air into the system. I don't think they ever tried to bleed the brakes. Man, we went through more than a gallon of 5606 today to bleed the systems and I'm not sure I got all the air out. Took the plane out, parking brake holds at takeoff power, but the brakes still felt a bit spongy. Bled them some more and will let it sit overnight. My legs are smoked from all the pumping today!

It sounds like you bled from the top down. I always try to go from the brake up. I’ll bet what you are feeling is air that is trapped in a low spot in the tubing. I just use the old fashioned pump Oiler and a rubber hose to the bleed screw. Just be sure not to empty the Oiler before closing the bleeder. I never seem to have much luck going top down.
That's the way I did it not having any real equipment here. I'll look around and see if they have a pump oiler tomorrow and give it a shot if they feel spongy.
Nothing like not having any tools. I’m sure the closest NAPA store is 2k miles away!!
