The .380 ammo of today is better than the .38 Special ammo years ago. I'd rather have a .380 in my hand than a .357 Magnum in a case at home. My wife carried a .380. She had arthritis in her hand and was sensitive to recoil. She tried my mouse gun, a Taurus .380 but it was very hard for her to run the slide and had too much kick. Got her a Ruger LC380. It was bigger and the slide was easy to operate. The additional size had easier recoil.

 

Thanks Don. That's what I was seeing on YouTube. Unfortunately we are limited in the pistol availability in CA. No Ruger semi automatic. We have 2 more gun stores to visit before a final decision.
