A tall hurricane sounds great right about now...

 

Never cut down bamboo, but was in a Huey that cut down a couple small palm trees to get down. Then the scary part started when I had to take a walk in flooded woods by my lonesome, but that's another short story. Second tree trimming was an out of control landing right into mature palm trees and all 8 ARVN troops got catapulted into the woods when the Huey went sideways at first impact. Took out several palms, kind that doesn't have a high trunk but the leaves reach up 20' or more. Smashed the blades pretty bad, but they stayed on. Finished one pilot's career for cowardice, didn't help the other one, either. One of those days you never want to repeat.

 

I remember those signs, thought the "moving waterfall" effect was cool. Must have been over 60 years ago, just a kid then.

Stuffed shells, salad and a couple glasses of a nice box wine for us. Going to clean up and then watch Polar Express! We typically watch it during Xmas but didn't get to it.
