Only thing I want are those abs. To quote my wife, "Mmm... Scrumptious!"
John you might chime in on this one, not sure. I'm surfing YouTube with my morning coffee and in my feed are videos about Springers. I enjoy that content so I watch. While the person drones on I read the comments. I see how they are difficult to work on, require constant maintenance, shimming and replacing parts at 10-15k intervals, and costing upwards of $3k to "get right" from people that don't own one.
My experience is I torqued at 500 and 2500 miles. Adjusted fall away at around 3k and greased at every oil change. I had to make an adjustment at about 16k when the fall away got loose and gave me a death wobble. Turned out to be a bent rim, hence the RSD wheels I now have. The only time it was ever really off was around that 16k mark. Tuned it then when the wheels and new brake calipers went on. 36k and counting and it's still good.
I'm going to pull the front wheel this weekend and tune everything again for the sake of getting it off my mind, but it still feels good. Needs to be lubed. And since the frame was replaced by HD, the steering head bearings have less than 10k on them at this point.
Morning everyone! I rode in today and it felt great! Haven't done that in a long time.
Russ, I'll get with you later when I have some time.
