Lou, I am no expert but recently did my first on my propane grill.

If you have a charcoal type grill I read chunks last longer than chips or pellets. If you recently inherited a small fortune and have a Traeger Greg is your man.

If you are using propane put the chips in a smoker box or foil pouch. I did neither and spent most of the time spraying flames.

Lou, I always use the Traeger pellets, apple, oak or pecan. They are consistent in size and burn evenly.

My sis & bil were on their way home from Florida yesterday and because they couldn’t get a freight, they rented a car and drove home. Seeing an opportunity, I asked them to bring me some booze ( prices in Florida are considerably less than Michigan) and they agreed.

those are magnums of scotch! ! !
