Speaking of bedside manner, when Cheryl was getting the consult on the hip replacement, the young PA was going through the process. He is one of those very blunt, but friendly guys who just don't think about what they're saying. He told Cheryl that they basically are "amputating her leg and sewing it back on".

Lunch break. Humid out there, just enuf rain last night to dampen things and turning steamy with the rapid rise in temp we're getting today, maybe up to 75 this afternoon. Just as well it's too wet for yard werk.

New studies are saying vitamin D deficiency is a factor in death rates from the virus - VD boosts the immune system, or lack of depresses the immune system if you're a glass half empty guy. I upped my D dosage 2 or 3 months ago because of that, people's immune systems degrade with age naturally, thought it woodn't hurt to give that a boost. Had a doc tell me several years ago a blood test showed my D was low and I should take a supplement, would fight off infections better.

Good luck with the knee Dave, I've known several people that got knee replacements and they all said they turned out great.

 

Actually the Doc was fantastic. Really affable guy. Great name too - Dr Bong.
