Of course I'm kidding Mick. I hear you. I look to my elders, all gone now, as the example. Most were just kind, gracious people who put family first and made civility their way of life no matter what life threw at them.

Then there was my paternal grand father.

Bob, my maternal one would sit in a lounge chair in his yard, hold out his hand and birds would land on it.

It was eerie, he was that way with every animal he came in contact with.

He was also the meanest, toughest SOB I ever met...bar none.

Dammit, I thought I turned that outside camera off.

My Dad was kind of like that. He absolutely loved animals. Had 5 dogs at a time. He gave a lot of $$ to animal shelters. And not that birds would come to him, but he had the most thriving song bird feeder I have ever seen. I recall one time, there were so many Cardinals in the tree outside his bedroom patio door that it looked like an apple tree. I've never seen anything like it.

But he had no use for people. At all. Definitely in the "meanest, toughest SOB" category.

Mornin, Russ. It occurs to me my Grandpa may never have met Pendleton wearing, hairy legged wimminz from the northwest so I may have to remove my nomination of him as meanest or toughest.
