Old tech. No battery needed. Use a rope to pull start the pony motor. Use the pony motor to start the diesel. Works good when it works.

Yep...old buzz bombs. had a couple different styles. They could be fun especially in the freezinass cold. The hard part wasn't getting the diesel running....that was a snap if & when you could get the pony motor started...
