I'm not using it. Son just sold his Deere for $600 , the motor was ready to go. He bought some 0 turn thing
Looks like I just bought another piece of *&^%^&* lawn maintenance equipment. Never thought I'd see the day that I'd buy a riding mower/tractor thingie. Son who says that he'll take care of the lawn at the lake and he's NOT walking behind a mower, just texts me with "Got us a tractor, LOL". Got a used one from the big equipment supply place where my SIL spends 6 figures a year. Son tells me it's a good deal. I have no clue . $500. Son said that he was buying it, of course I'm not letting him pay for it but he's in charge of using it. I like red but woulda preferred yellow. Last 4 cars I built 2 were red and 2 were yellow.
The Sears tractors can be decent. Just depends on what motor and differential that one has. Until you get up into the uber premium tractors they're pretty much all made by MTD anyway.
A Midwestern favorite. Headquartered in Moline Il, and a large manufacturing facility not far from me up in Horicon WI. Our sub-division is divided between yellow and green. If the fit hits the shan we will divide into waring factions and I believe yellow will win based on numbers. But the truth is, I just happened onto ours. A friend sold her house and had no need for it, so I bought the Cub from her. If I were to go out and buy new, it would be a Deere. But bloody hell some of those are expensive. The all wheel drive one I want is up around $15k.
That would make you a Cub Cadet man Al. That's what I have. It's been a very good mower.

At one time I worked for a company that forged crankshaft for the big JD tractors. Only metric part we made and it was a pain in the *** to run quality cheks in metric when you spent 99% of the rest of your time in SAE mode. Sent A LOT of those to Davenport IA I think. Cant remember for sure.
I have a JD mini compact (1023e) for our mower and some of the small farming stuff. 54" is nice on a diesel that doesnt bog down under load.
