All caught up. The youngest grandkid isn't going to want his friends seeing that photo when he's a bit older. His sister's hand me down car will be worse for levity than a Prius in the driveway. Or close to it... If nobody else will tease him about it, I certainly will.

Bob, have you ever fired the latest version of Springfield’s M1A1s? They come in .308 which fits right into my plan to decrease calibers in use around here.
Had one many years ago. Should've saved my money for an FN-FAL in .308.

That's one helluva gun Greg. FN can do no wrong in my book. But I think the M1 appeals to the traditionalist. Kind of like a traditional 1911 vs a Glock. Both will get it done, but one is certainly more advanced.

I'm actually vetting .308s. My default is Sako. Unfortunately the Finland .308 that I really want would cost me 2 Honda Insights.

Is why I bought it. When it worked it was a hoot. Unfortunately, that wasn't very often.

The Australian Army troops we occasionally carried had the British L1 SLR version, thought that was a cool looking rifle but never got to shoot one. A little heavier than an M14, wouldn't have enjoyed lugging it around all day like those Aussies often had to, but was undeniably a harder hitting weapon than our M16s.

I'm going to take one of those muscle relaxants I've been hoarding, probably be ready for bed soon. Signing off...
