Don't know how, but my dogs have made friends with the coyotes. One's big enough, I'm sure they don't wanna mess with him. I guess he keeps em off the smaller one, but I've watched em run together.

This was a male attacking a male. There was a female on the fringe of the brush. That's when the males get super aggressive. She took pics and they were huge. Looked more like wolves than Coyotes. And this was in a park in the city.
We live in the outer burbs and there's some here as well. I'm always armed when I take my son's dog out.
