First of all your ins is cheap! Helps to rub elbows with the right people I guess. As far as the damage, I'd fix it if possible, replace if not. I wouldn't file a claim for anything less than the roof blowing off. Jokes aside, that happened... Not the under lament, but I lost half my shingles when I was in El Paso. You can bet I filed a claim for that. Wind.

I have multi everything discount. Myabe 10 yrs ago, I finally convinced my mother to change over. She got auto and homeowners for what she was paying for car alone. It's ERIE insurance. A couple years ago, my youngest son had a heat pipe leak on his first floor and he had been away for several days. Called the agent and an appraiser was there the next day. Paid for ripping out the hardwood floor that a couple years old, replacing molding and other associated damage pretty much on the spot. Brother had a couple auto claims with his kids, same thing.

Problem solved. Son came down with kid that works for him and we pretty much popped the door back. On a string line the center may be out an inch over 16'. Couple small wrinkles on the outside that I can live with .....for now

Look at it this way Al - now you can heat up more spray cans without worrying about exploding the new door. This one is pre-exploded.

I was thinking about bolting some 2x12 s across it....I still can't believe the pressure and why I never felt it, it should have blown me out of my chair.

Haha....nope don't need one now. But if I do I'll get a really cheap flimsy door to let the pressure wave out quickly.

Al, 2x12s are kinda heavy, you could probably get replacement horizontal braces from a door company. That door is a lot of square feet, and you might be surprised how little pressure it actually takes to bend one in the middle. You might have felt a split second of pressure in your ears and not noticed because it would just blend in with the loud sound. I've seen a few garage doors in my neighborhood that bent inwards from the wind, at least one that bent enough to come off the tracks. We've had some hellacious wind bursts in this area, one was estimated at 90+. Lot of trees have blown over, including my then largest cottonwood, at least 60' high. One house had the detached garage play kite for a few seconds. Might have gone longer, but a two story apartment building got in the way...
