My guess is you can figure out who it was and have a polite conversation about trespassing. I'm a softy when it comes to that kind of stuff. As a kid on a dirt bike I did all kinds of trespassing to get from one trail to the next. I wouldn't do it now, but if it were my land,, anyone on a toy (i.e. not a car or truck) gets a pass.

That said, about 20 years ago, while having my morning coffee, I did witness my next-door neighbor cutting through my yard with his pickup truck. I couldn't believe my eyes. I had a fence built by the end of the day. Accidentally cut the ******** telephone line too.

If this was a one off incident of trespass and the perpetrator was not up to something illegal at 2:36 am, no big deal. I just don't enjoy being woke up at that time of the morning. I am not advocating killing someone over it (other than joking), but I might not be beyond kicking some ***...................

Ya gotta wonder what he was doing at that time. Bit too early for fishing.

The other guy on my street that has an ATV with plow always wakes me up at 4AM after a snow clearing the old folk's drive across the street. It is a bit early, but he's doing a good deed so he gets a pass. That and I know it snowed overnight before I even get out of bed.
