Wow! Nice Bob. Is that just a stand rHy holds the saw, or is it the entire complete part?

Nice to have a big drill press when drilling a 2" hole. Not the most professional way to do it but it's working.

It's the saw and 55 inch guides that join together. Because I was cutting 8 foot lengths I needed 2, which is the most a person should need. The table is just 3 horses and a sheet of chipboard with 1.5 inch pink insulating foam on top to use as a sacrificial layer. Set the saw to one tooth depth past the material and have at it. Cleanest cuts I have ever done. For years I've tried to come up with things to rip lengths - wood guides, Unistrut guides....all with a decent quality circular saw. But no matter how careful I was, the cuts were never perfectly straight. Now they are straight enough that I can do a trim piece on the edge of plywood and it's absolutely perfect - no gaps at all.

I've even used it for making shims out of 2x4s. I can make a perfect 1/8th shim that's 8 feet long if need be. And it does a really nice job on cross cuts as well. The narrowest I have done is about 12 inch wide.

Nice! If you do allot of wood work, a tool like that will pay itself off in no time.

I've never actually seen a 2 inch twist drill before. I used to cut holes in thick steel plate with a mag-drill. I think I used up to 1.5, but it was the bit that looks like a carbide hole saw kind of. Worked very well, I can say that.

We have a 2 1/8” drill bit. Takes lots of torque.
