Mick & Bob, it is possible (though I didn’t believe it at first) to get through a Holiday celebration with your crazy liberal siblings without a argument. I did it last night. Trish made me swear on a stack of un-named religious books that I would under no circumstances bring up, or enter into any conversations containing Politics or Religion. I didn’t, and there was none of the usual red faced yelling and screaming.
On speeding - I got a warning in South Dakota for going 84 in an 80. I guess in the higher speed limit areas they mean it. Here in Wisconsin, where it's 70, I can cruise right by a cop doing 77. I don't even bother braking.

I passed a cop once going 38 over, thought I was really gonna hammered. Saw him look right at me, but he didn't react, must have been just off shift and had a hot date or something. Another time topped a hill breaking 100 just as a cop did from the other direction. I can only guess we passed and went out of sight of each other so quick he didn't realize how fast I going. I remember that one because it was early in my 100+ days and was why I got into the habit of droping down to hopefully below ticket range topping hills or coming out of blind spots. Unless I'm following QC...

When I was about 19 I was just outside Palm Springs, CA on a motorcycle going about 100 MPH. CHP pulls me over. The girl I am with and I get off the bike. He asks for ID and wants to know if I know how fast I was going. No, I said He tells me. We get to talking and I tell him...My uncle is a City of Palm Springs Cop. He says, Hey, I know him. No ticket.

I’m telling you guys, there was State Trooper every few miles. Mix that in with the CBP checkpoints and roving unpaid CBP officers, this place is covered up.

Couple summers ago got pulled over. Was clocked 87 in a 55 zone. Deputy runs my license and comes back and asked me if I knew Ali. I say she is my granddaughter. He hands my license back and says try to hold it down some and lets me go without even a warning. I called my granddaughter and asked her why she would know a Deputy Hoffman. She had helped him coach a 4th grade girls basketball team earlier that year.
