How I handled it: fry burger with a liberal sprinkling of your favorite steak seasoning on each side. While doing this, cook 3 or 10 slices of bacon. Toast a couple slices of 12 grain bread, spread your favorite barbecue sauce on each, cover each piece with 3 or 4 cheese shredded cheese (often called Mexican), microwave long enough to melt the cheese, cover one slice with bacon, then burger and cover with the second toast slice. Dill pickles, jalapenos, tomatoes, onion, lettuce or kale optional. Saves a trip to Burger King and tastes much better, as long as you don't forget the bacon. I don't recommend okra or olives. I've substituted leftover red pasta sauce and pepperoni for the bbq sauce and bacon, but frankly, I think you should never omit the bacon no matter how you fix it.

Or if the weather is nice and the Burger King is only 100 miles away, what the hell, good excuse for a ride.

Wow, he's been asleep for over half an hour now. Finally gave in, laid on my bed with him on my belly and patted his back, about the only way I can get him to calm down, but today he's been crying right away when I try to put him in the crib, first time he stayed asleep more than a few minutes. By the time the snow melts, he should be getting over this. Gonna be a long winter...

I've heard some of my older relatives say a teaspoon of whiskey calms crying babies... and they weren't joking. I've been familiar with the taste of whiskey as long as I can remember, whiskey and cod liver oil were medicinal staples growing up. Even after we got indoor plumbing, which came in handy after a couple good doses of that oil...

Mike,i believe I gave you the instructions for use of whiskey to quiet a baby : Pour 1 shot of whiskey in a shot glass. Dip the tip of you little finger in the whiskey and gently rub on babies bottom gums, do the same thing on the top gums. Drink the rest of the whiskey....repeat as needed...

You'd have to ask Carol.

Well I see our little school incident made the World News. Lovely. Turns out I was wrong about no one being hurt. The cops shot some stupid kid who pointed a pistol at them. He's in stable condition.
