TOAK, The Thread of All Knowledge Part XIII
I got so desperate once I loosened all the nuts till they were just off the wheel, rolled the car slowly and hit the brakes; thud, it's loose. I've taken a couple more off that way since, breaks them loose every time. Just don't back the nuts off far, might damage the stud threads. And 5mph, not 50.
The tranny fluid/acetone/ brake fluid mix did 4 out of 5. I tried the wax on the last one ( After all hope and failed). No go. Tried it with a lighter method as seen on youtube. No go. This nut was made by satan for satan on ......... I'm not going to say it a third time. Thank God I don't have to work tomorrow while I'm working tomorrow.
Damn Al......your logic is inescapable. BUT - I live on a dead end street and everyone knows me, so the perception is intact.
In other news, finished the ceiling today. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be. When you remodel you learn how not square your house is.
Tomorrow they sand the wood floors. Monday the finish them. Friday carpet the office. We are on a roll.

Bob, that looks great! Try remodeling in a 120yr old house that was well built when new. My house was built by a well to do guy who was a builder, contractor, owned a lumber yard and mill. he built it for himself.
Al's Rule of old house remodeling : Anytime you build something straight , level or plumb...you're screwed!
