Geez Terry ... Always tough losing an old friend :<(

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Thanks guys it has been a little while. Lost her brother to cancer, had to have her put her down due to old age, most recently had to have former GFs boxer mix put down due to an inoperable tumor. I love having a dog but the loss when they go...................just what Larry said.

22 minutes before pickup time yesterday, daughter called and asked me to get oldest boy after school. Despite the every two weeks a new road construction detour, I was only about 15 seconds late. When she came to get him after work, said she needed me to take the two youngest the next two Fridays. Carol has a garage light that needs fixing (and there's always a couple more things whenever I'm there) and a snowblower that needs a new carb (yes, I could probably fix it, but a new one is so cheap now). And that's how I plan things around here; wow, I have 4 hours alone, let's do something...

3 grandparents besides me, somehow we all manage. Audrey has pretty flexible work, as a manager she can usually take an afternoon off if she needs to, and her husband is half owner of his company, can also do pretty much what he wants to. They don't take time off for no good reason, though, it can mean a long day catching up when they get back. Younger families with kids and no grandparents have it rough, one of the reasons there are a lot of single moms on welfare, after daycare expenses they wouldn't have enough left to live on. Lot of kids today live in 2 or 3 houses during the week. My oldest grandson hasn't yet, but could sleep in 5 different houses. Some cultures say it takes a village to raise a child, and this country is getting that way.

Afternoon Greg, Russ, Terry, Al, Larry, Stan and Moldy!

Sorry to hear Terry. Looked like a big dog.

Greg, please keep the white stuff over that way. If you want to send it south, that is fine too.
