TOAK, The Thread of All Knowledge Part XIII
My niece just had her first kid. Diagnosed with systic fibrosis. Not even sure what that is but it isn't good.
Morning Ken, Lou, Al, Chuck, Tick Greg, Mick, Doc and Larry.
Waiting on a conference call to start up so I know what the hell were doing.
Sorry to hear Ken and hope all is well and something simple.
Lou, that isn't good. Hope all goes well. Sonthen just a baby then if I understand correctly?

Yup. First kid. They are in their 20's. Less than a month old.
Morning, morning Woods. Ken, I hope they find out what’s wrong with Gail’s back and get her fixed up. Lou, sorry to hear about your niece’s baby.
Wow... long road and really stressful situation on a young couple.

Morning Woods
Sending our best to Gail.
Paula has a cousin who’s has two kids with CF. Drew eventually had to get a double lung transplant and has been doing awesome since. That was 8 years ago. Sidney wasn’t as bad as Drew but still had her issues. Every morning for the longest time, they had to what they called Patty Pat. The kids would lay on their stomachs while the Mom and Dad would thump the kids backs for 20-30 minutes to loosen up the phlegm and gunk in their lungs. Eventually they were able to buy a CF vest at which I was told $100g. It had electrical motors that would vibrate cutting down the amount of time needed to thump the kids.
Now Drew is 20 and Sidney is 17. Always super happy kids and positive.

I’m not sure what it’s like down there Lou, but they had a tremendous support group up here for CF.
