Sporty just needed a new battery, by the time I got it home, it was completely shorted, zero volts. Got some more miles on it before the salt. EG has 3 wheels on the ground now, wasted too much time trying to get matching cast wheels and finally just put the spoke back on the front, but the salt hit the roads before I got the brakes set up, thinking since it's taken this long I should get some new brake lines, already have the pads. Should have cast wheels with new bearings (and shimmed, they're rollers) set up for a swap when it gets a bit warmer, the wheels need a serious clean and polish, been spending some Dremel time with them. Tedious... Getting the shoes on the sidecar drum brake is about the hardest I've ever run across. At least it cleaned up nice, looked like it hadn't been touched since '96 when I first pulled it. Doing some things to it I hadn't planned on, like that's unusual with an old Harley.

about half de-rusted

now someone's probably gonna tell me the easy way to put shoes on...
