I figured I could drill a hole from underneath and fish the wires through this frame. I have very limited access to where I have to drill and the steel is about 3/16” thick. I tried using a 1/2” hole saw bit (the kind used for making holes in sheet metal) for rust proofing. Well , it was like cutting down a tree with a nail file. I’m going to have to devise a plan B.
Are you sure there aren't any wires behind where you're cutting/drilling? Be embarrassing to chew a wire or two.

Which reminds me, RUSS, when you put down the ez track, did you go all the way through the frame and use a nut, or tap the frame cross tube and just bolt into the top of it?

That’s what I was thinking Dan. Hopefully I can fit the drill & bit in the space available.

Al , thanks for the info on the ability of the HF brand. I’ll pick one up tomorrow.

In fact, I just made a note to pick up the largest one they have. That 3 pc set is really good, just drill a regular pilot hole first, they're not good at starting their own hole.

I drilled into the frame and used self tapping screws.

Edit- I have been toying with the idea of installing seat track and removing the EZ-Track. Much smaller profile

If you want really good ones that last forever, go with Lenox. Dual flutes and don't dull for a long time. More expensive but last forever. Used them at work on stainless and they on burn up for a while. I have a couple different sizes and they are 8 - 10 years old and still sharp.

Love their saw blades too!

Bikes are packed.

Added a Tour Pak to the RG so we can take Savannah this trip.

Heading to a Fontana Dam, NC in the morning.

Full days ride to get there.
