Ouch! Yeah we need to replace our French door. Got it on demo special for about $300 like 20 years ago. Now looking to spend almost a grand! Has to have the blinds inside the glass. Mama is putting her foot down. Needless to say we put that project on the back burner. Re doing 75' of fence will cost us $800.

Back from Planning Commission meeting. Guy who is the representative or lawyer for an outdoor advertising company comes in. He's all preppy dressed with a sportcoat and all fancy smelly. He introduces himself as "Jawfrey"..not " Jeffrey" spelled Geoffrey.... I knew he was screwed right there. Wants to move an existing plain billboard to another location on a property where they are not currently allowed. Two side LED with changing messages. We read him the Zoning Code detailing all the reasons that it's not allowed. He says " Well, there is a hardship involved to the landowner (a car wash), people have backed their cars into the existing billboard because of the location"... I looked at him and said : Really? you're going to go with that as a hardship? First of all, if in fact it is a hardship, it was created by the owner of the property. if it's such a hardship, i suggest he install concrete and steel bollards around the base"..... He did not get a recommendation for a variance to go to the Zoning Board....

 

Oh don't think I have ANY intention of buying that door Al. No effing way. We set a budget of $2000, which I thought was pretty fair. They did have an all wood alternative that we liked for $2300. I'm going to shop around, but the lead time is a killer - 5-7 weeks. I have to get it installed before I can do the wood floors. This delay could jeopardize the Thanksgiving get together with the whole family.......

Al, I think I just saw a tweet from 'Jawfrey'.....he says your commissioners say mean things.

 

At $608 (KBB trade in value) I could buy 12 more used Insights for the cost of that door Mick.

 

Jeez, that would make a nice down payment on a new bagger!
