My 2010 Insight has been reliable as it gets. But your Civic probably gets similar mileage and not nearly as slow. In hindsight I should have just bought the Civic. I won't buy hybrid again, that's for sure.

We pay $85/year and now the $75 surcharge. Not bad, but they get us in other ways. Our property taxes are pretty high.

Property tax is 1% here. Yes my 08 civic gets 38-40 mpg. My 01 gets 40 mpg. Not bad.

Yup....that's what I get. But Jesus is it slow. It has that annoying CVT transmission. God I hate it. I nice 5 speed would be so much better. I keep threatening to get rid of it but the damn thing is so reliable. And paid for. It's not even rusty, which is unusual for a 10 tear old car in these parts.

WV doesn't have many hybrid cars. I figure you could probably sell a coal fired car here. I know they have tried to liquify coal before here during the last energy crisis when $4-5/gal gas was the norm. We do have CNG cars here but very few and really nowhere to refuel
I was considering a CNG Civic when the Insight was released in 2009. I could have bought the "charging station" and connected it to my house to use the natural gas. But it was really expensive. Didn't justify the gas savings. I was driving a Yukon XL when gas went over $4/gallon and was filling up a couple of times a week. The Honda paid for itself vs driving the Yukon.
