Re-morning gents! I feel sufficiently worked out and ready for the day, I will say I was somewhat deflated by the registration renewal I just received. Apparently Wisconsin has decided to double our license renewal for hybrid cars. WTF!!!!?????

Bob, since those cars aren't paying as much in gas taxes, they have to recoup the losses from somewhere. Plus you're paying for the subsidies those cars get to make them affordable. Even if you don't own a hybrid or electric car.
You wouldn't believe what our registration fees go to. And we wonder why our roads are in such bad shape.

On break from deck painting. Weather check and a refresher of ice water.

WV doesn't have many hybrid cars. I figure you could probably sell a coal fired car here. I know they have tried to liquify coal before here during the last energy crisis when $4-5/gal gas was the norm. We do have CNG cars here but very few and really nowhere to refuel

If it was full electric or actually got better mileage than a normal car I would agree Greg. Any number of fuel efficient cars get as good or better mileage. I was an early adopter so I'm not knocking down amazing numbers. Plus I use it for work and put on a lot of miles = buy more than average amounts of fuel. Trust me, I'm paying my part and then some. And part of the reason I bought the car was for the tax credit for buying a green car. Now I'm being penalized? First the gov't provides positive reinforcement for buying a hybrid car, then negative for owning it.

The worst part is, now I'm lumped in with a bunch of whiny Liberal Prius owners shrieking "Foul!"

Life can be cruel sometimes.

Still don't trust hybrid cars. I'll stick with my civic. Dam good fuel economy. Registration sux here. About$300 a year for a 10+ yo vehicle.
