Terry, My Mother-in laws brother & his wife lived in Barberton for years before they both passed away. Can't remember who he worked for....been too many years ago.
haha... when my g'son was born, my daughter wanted a clothes rack with wooden pegs to hang near the changing table. I bought poplar wood and wooden pegs for about $35. Cut the wood , miter the corners, router the edges, sand and paint. A few months later I'm in Hobby Lobby and see virtually the identical rack on sale for $12.99. Several years later, my g'daughter is born and daughter asks me to make another one....guess what I did?... just bought it and painted it..
Al, keep going. I'm taking notes! Cheap bird houses, painting wooden racks. What's next, farming out stone work?
Jokes aside, that's awesome lol.
Chris, it's all about challenges....Here's one for ya . My wife wanted a rocking chair to rock my baby G'son. There was an old antique one in her parents basement that someone gave used to her grandmother. Had to be 100yrs old. Painted 10 times , wood on the seats and broken pieces but a lot of sentimental value to my wife. It took me a full week to strip, make parts and getit in paintable condition. The original seat and back were hand caned. I kept track , it took me 36 hrs to hand cane the seat and back..but it got done. Now a family heirloom that will continue to be handed down. before and after pics
