It's actually great. The ticking has been bothering me for awhile now. The bike has never let me down and it was causing doubt about the crank, etc. Now that it's been thoroughly checked over, all tolerances seem good, and the noise is gone, I'm feeling much better about the bike. i'll keep it around a while longer. I would get bent over selling a bike with 47k miles on it anyway. Except maybe in Manchester..........Hmmmmm.

Bob, congratulations! Did I miss something? Was that condition treated in any way?

It was excessive carbon buildup Stan. Apparently it was unusually bad. And that's the big mystery - why? I did a breather bypass 4 years ago. I always run Premium of course. I do oil changes with full synthetic every 3000 miles.

They mentioned maybe the FP3 was doing it, but even they said that was a long shot. I do wonder if my K&N filter element contributes. I've heard the oil can foul MAP sensors, but I wonder if just running a paper filter would be better?
