Tomatoes, peppers, Cilantro....all from the garden. It's not Clam Chowder, but it will do.

So goodish news on the bike front. The crank, flywheel, wrist pins, etc all very, very good.

What they did find was an unusual amount of carbon buildup on the pistons. They feel that is the issue. I asked why it would have so much build up, especially considering I did a breather bypass ages ago. He said he was actually going to call the Moco and make some inquiries. He did note that I have a FP3 on there and wondered if maybe it was running rich, which I kinda doubt. He also said bad fuel......but that's a lot of bad fuel.

So he's going to see if the ESP company will cover it. I'm doubtful they will. I'm not sure carbon buildup would be covered even if the ESP was still in effect. But at least it's not a spun crank or something requiring splitting the case.

No, they didn't check runout. They ruled that out earlier because the symptoms didn't indicate it (according to them). They were more concerned that it was a connecting rod issue, either at the crank or piston end - which they said was just fine upon inspection.

That is better, if not the best news, Bob. Let's hope the warranty company goes along.

Agreed. But if I have to spend $600 and nothing more to have it mechanically sound I'm okay with that. I was concerned that I was going to toss $600 at it only to be told I need to add two grand more. But yes - free would be much better. Six hundred dollars buys a lot of Chowder.
